Latest News about Peru!

Hello family,

It’s been a long couple of months and it’s been pretty busy here with all the fundraising, work, homeschool, and life.

Jeremy is working 3 days a week now, which will allow us to have more time to work towards Peru and preparing to leave. Recently, he's been driving more than in the warehouse, sometimes putting a 15 hour shift, so it’s been very tiring for him at times. He also has been able to have a bible study with the guys from the warehouse at his job. It's so amazing to see young guys curious and in need of Jesus, and Jeremy has been that bridge for them to see Jesus and follow Him.

Thankful that he can go to part time and focus more on the fundraising part of our journey, as well as he continues to meet with those guys to show them more of God's love.

In February we had our World Mandate missions conference here in Fort Worth. At this conference we had the honor to do a video for the congregation to let the church know of God's plan with our family and Peru. Our church was also able to pray for us and all the other missionaries who will be send out this year. It was a special time to see all our dear friends praying in agreement for God’s great commission. It was also very emotional to see all the youth coming together to pray for our kids. It looked like a wave of kids running towards our kiddos. All their friends came running to lay hands on them and it brought many tears to see the community of friends that our kids had built.

We are truly in awe to see God’s goodness towards our kids, remembering our kids so broken leaving Amarillo, leaving friends behind, but seeing God’s faithfulness in bringing new friendships and godly relationships to our kids. God is so good! God has brought very special friendships for us here in Fort Worth and we are so thankful to be able to see His goodness in our obedience.

We are also so thankful for the seasons and the gifts of friendships and family God gave us in Amarillo. Our original plan when we came back from the mission field in 2011 was to stay in Amarillo for 5 years and then go back to Peru, and we always questioned God on why we had to stay so long, but now seeing all the friendships we built in Amarillo, all the memories we had with our families and friends, we are thankful that His plans are better than ours, and His ways higher!!

We can now see God’s hand in all of it from the time coming back from Peru till now, God is involved in every aspect of our lives and our kids lives. To be able to sit down with our kids and remind them of how God showed up for them as we were transitioning to Fort Worth, to be able to see God’s miracle in how He dealt with our kids hearts and the transformation that He did in them, we are in awe of God’s goodness, but that doesn’t end there, we also can be sure that He will show up in Peru, as we trust in Him and obey, we will see His faithfulness and goodness for us and for our kids in Peru as well.

In March, Sandra had the privilege to speak at a women's gathering. It was truly an honor to be able to brag about God's goodness and His faithfulness as He takes us on this journey to Peru. It was such a sweet time celebrating God's goodness for His children as we obey His Word even when we go through some hard times, we trust in Him.

As we prepare to leave, it’s becoming more of a reality with the thoughts of leaving everything and everyone we love behind, it will be a grieving time, but we are trusting God, His ways, and His goodness. It’s been a long process and many days of stressful times. Praise God, He is the One who holds us together, and who brings peace in the midst of the busyness. There's been very hard times, sad times, anxious times, but even then, we are able to see God acting on our behalf, He is for us and we submit to all He wants to do with us. It's all worth it!!!

Right now, we are doing all the paperwork for our dogs to be able to travel, as well as getting rid of a lot of our stuff. We have been minimizing as much as we can, packing some suitcases that we will be taking to Peru and will be taking some things to Amarillo, and keeping some things here in Fort Worth for teams to take to us when we get settle in Peru. We are also planning a trip to Amarillo and Florida to say goodbye to our families before we leave to Peru.

Please continue to pray for our hearts as we continue to walk by faith in this very tender time!

As of right now, we are at 70% of our monthly commitments. Thank you so much all of you who have been praying for us and supporting us financially during this process. We are planning to leave beginning of May sometime. We haven’t bought tickets yet, but praying soon once we hit over 80% of our monthly budget. We are very close to launching.

If you have not yet considered partnering with us, Would you pray about partnering with us monthly and sowing into what God is doing in Lima, Peru? Also, if there's any one time gifts, it will go to our monthly funding. Thank you again for all who are lifting us up in prayers and also for those have committed to a financially partnering with us! We are in this together!
